Apparently, Mackenzie and I both have a thing for leather jackets. We both own one in brown and one in black. Which, is actually plenty considering that the weather where we live is really only right for leather jackets for about a month, maybe two if you get really lucky.

I love my black leather jacket. I feel a little guilty when I wear it to work because the zippers down the sleeves and all it’s worn leather-ness just doesn’t fit in with the banker culture at work. But I don’t wear the jacket all day, so I can deal with some weird looks for the 90 seconds it takes me to get from the door to my desk. I basically have the same situation going on that Kendi used to have to go through. If I get weird looks, I probably dressed very well that day. If I get a nod of approval, “that usually means I look like I stepped straight out of 1992” (as quoted from Kendi because I could not say it any better myself.)

Go here to see Mackenzie’s leather jacket and keep up with her fall essentials.

  1. I've been eagerly hunting for a great leather jacket, but most of the ones I've found have been disappointing. I guess I'll have to keep hunting!

  2. Sarah,

I know what you mean! I find that hunting for special clothing items is like hunting for a man, if you stop looking so hard, one day the right one just shows up! :) Good luck in your search! (unfortunately mine is a over a year old or I would send you the link).

  3. I have one thing to say ... I better be included in this creative genius posts WHEN I start my blog :)

And, (So I lied about the 'one thing') I agree with all of your 'essentials' so far ... oversized purse would be one on my list.

  4. Katie,

You should definitely be in on the posts next time! We will have more fun than we can stand, I'm sure.

I love the oversized purse! That makes me want to go get my brown one out of the box (haven't really got around to unpacking purses and bags yet...oops).

I kind of wish we had added leopard print to the list. I'm becoming slightly obsessed.
