the best no bake chocolate cookies ever
You know you have made a good friend when she gives you the best no bake cookie recipe ever. My friend and co-worker made these cookies for an office event and after two bites I was saying "I HAVE to know how to make these." So she gave me the how-to and I made some for mine and husband's families. My Granny has not stopped craving these cookies. Which feels like a double win for me because grannies know all about making extremely good cookies. The secret ingredient is corn flakes instead of the usual oatmeal in all the other no bake recipes I've tried. It adds a extra special crunch and flavor.
Well today friends, I am blessing all of you with this special cookie recipe. You're welcome in advance.
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup white corn syrup
3/4 cup peanut butter
3/4 cup chocolate chips
4 cups corn flakes
Combine the sugar and corn syrup in a sauce pan over medium heat and bring to boil.
Remove it from the heat and stir in the peanut butter and chocolate chips until smooth.
Pour over corn flakes in a large bowl and quickly mix together (the chocolate will get stiff quickly).
Spoon the mixture onto wax paper in spoonful size portions.
Allow the cookies to cool and the chocolate to set up.
Then try to eat just one. Which will be hard. Because these are really really good. An extra tip is to get everything measured out and into bowls or measuring cups before you begin. The process has to be handled really quickly, so don't try to be scooping corn flake measurements before the chocolate starts getting thick, because that will be a difficult task. And you can also stick the cookies and wax paper in the fridge to speed up the cooling process a tad.
